Bahath House - JORDAN

Description

This very large house located on a wooded 15,000 m² sloped site in a very rural setting with olive grove and oaks, 25 km west to Amman, with panoramic views to the surrounding hills and the Dead Sea.
The House program consists of: Reception Hall galleries, Living room, family room, formal dining room, a formal kitchen with pantry, an external kitchen, a large ball room for 125 persons, an English Library with a billiard room, and outdoors terrace. The Lower level consists of: Gym, health club, barbershop and a large lap pool connected to the outdoor pool.
The upper level contains: two separate Master Bedrooms, four bedroom suites, upper family area and support kitchen, housekeeper room and laundry, a lookout tower connecting the three levels via a separate enclosed stair and separate elevator. The total area of the house is 4,000 m².
The architectural Vocabulary is "fragmented separate volumes" with hipped red tile roofs, flanked by a central vaulted rectangular shape with a zinc roof emphasizing the frontal plane entry to the house. The Tower and roof top pergolas to the upper end side, help to balance visually the house volumes and to add character to the house as a "southern Italy Mediterranean" vocabulary. The building material: double walls with earth tone monocoushe cement base product, double-glazed off white windows, and cedar pergolas.
The Site plan consisting of a vehicular spine with a main entry point, a stable from one side, a frontal cull de sac in front of the main house, and the tennis court to the side.
